Tony Tony Chopper

Chopper was a reindeer born blue. His herd drove him out. He ate the Hito Hito no Mi — the Human-Human Fruit — and became something neither: too animal for people, too human for animals. Rejected twice over, he stumbled onto the mountain hut of a quack doctor named Hiriluk, a raving lunatic who believed cherry blossoms could cure illness and whose dying wish was a miracle Chopper had to pull off alone.

He did. Chopper is the reason Dr. Kureha trained him to become a real doctor. He's also the reason Drum Island saw its own flag flying cherry blossoms in the snow on the day Hiriluk died. That moment — a child reindeer raising his flag in the middle of a blizzard — is when Chopper became the man who would save the crew from every poison, every disease, every wound they'd take running toward a dream.

He still gets flustered when people compliment him ("it doesn't make me happy at all, you jerk!"). He still transforms into the Monster Point that terrifies navies. But underneath the fluff and the furious blushing is the crew's quiet line of defense: the doctor who refuses to lose another patient, because the first one he lost was the man who taught him medicine was supposed to save everyone.
